Something a Little Different

I saw this table runner the other day at Michaels. I thought it was pretty cute, but i didn't want to spend the money on it. So what to do??

Well, I went to Dollar Tree. I bought some 2 bags of leaves. I already had some felt, extra leaves, and glue at home and I went to work.

It took some time and patience, but I do love how it came out. Another piece to my fall decor.

13 For 250th SAL

To celebrate our country's 250th birthday bash, I'll be participating in the 13 for 250th Sal hosted by Nancy The Disorderly Stitcher and Stitcher With A Laughing Face. It's pretty easy. Stitch 13 projects, one a month, before the next 4th of July. That way you have some extra patriotic designs for your decor to celebrate next year.

I started a month late. So, I decided to do one a month, and one larger project I'll work on all year.

My 13th project, was easy to decide. It's one of my older WIPS. It's Stand Firm by Theresa Kogurt.

I started this a couple years ago. I don't know why I never really finished it, guessing it's my startaholic.

To figure out the other 12 designs, I decided to let my Tiny Decision wheel do all the work.

I went through a lot of my designs, and I came up with 43 different patterns. My first spin for July gave my Stars and Stripes by Erica Michaels. It's a freebie on Rainbow Gallery website. It's under the 2021 freebies.

The rest of July I'll be working on Christmas. I have to figure out a general list of what I want to touch on.

So that's all for now, and have a blessed week

As We Start Heading into July

It's crazy to think that tomorrow will be July and we still have green grass. Here in south Texas, it's usually all brown by now. We are forecasted for some rain this afternoon. The chickens are loving the green to walk and lay on.

I found this chalkboard at Walmart. I gave the border a quick white chalk paint. The design is from Stitching With the Housewives called Good Old Days. The top came as one separate design. The bottom comes as three parts, the month, and two rounds. I still have to get those done. I glued the top, and the bottom pieces will be held in place with magnets.

I also finished this piece also. This one is from the Witchy Stitcher called Summer Sucks. It just did this as a basic flat finish, a little twine bow with a little skull button. I used magnets to attach it to my metal pumpkin.

Well, that's all for now.  Have a blessed weekand a Happy 4th.

More Rain and a Finish

We got more rain Saturday afternoon. It was quick, but it did poar pretty hard.

Then I was watching Flosstube, and saw this cutest display piece that Christi at Javagirlstitches made. It is adorable!! I had to make one. Actually I made 2.

It was all made with Dollar Tree items. To do the crackling effect on the paint, I used the glue method. And to rust up the roof, it was just brown paint, sprinkled cinnamon. I then sprayed a light coat of sealer so the cinnamon stays in place.

To finish up the weekend, I got a cute little patriotic piece done. Let Freedom Ring by October House Fiber Arts. You can find the design in the Summer Edition of Just CrossStitch.

Well that's all for now. Have a blessed week.

More Rain

After almost 10 inches of rain this past week, we are looking at more rain.  Fortunately, this was a quick 30 minute storm.

Stitchmaynia is always one of my favorite times of the stitching year. This year is no exception. I work for a school district, so I have my summers off. Stitchmaynia is a way I can plan all my extra summer stitching.

Yesterday was day 9, and I started another Halloweenies by Prairie Schooler. This is the witch and cauldron. It's stitched on 14 count oatmeal with the called for DMC, so far. I'm not sure if I might changed one color out yet. Prairie Schooler is so classic, I don't like to change them up too much.

Well, thanks all for now. Have a blessed day.

Rainy Day

It was nice to finally see some rain here is south Texas. For the past two years, everything has been brown and crunchy. We may have to mow the grass this weekend. Next week we are already looking at triple digits. Time to enjoy these cooler days. Summer next week.
